Drum rhythm therapy: An intervention to stimulate the cognitive abilities of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) face obstacles in their cognitive development. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of drum rhythm therapy model stimulating abilities (attention, concentration, and short-term memory) children ASD. The experiment method was used a one-group pretest-posttest design. Attention concentration levels were measured both before after through series observations. A total 14 ASD aged 4–12 participated study. All participants new students at Gilang Ramadhan Studio Band (GRSB), Surakarta, Indonesia. employed for three months. Data analysis conducted using Wilcoxon test SPSS Version 23. Results: showed an increase attention, memory scores following (Z = -2.533b, p .011, .05). results could support use alternative memory.
